Miami offers free November concerts

Miami residents can skip the ticket booth this month. Local venues across Miami-Dade and Broward counties have scheduled a slate of free live music events for November. The lineup spans jazz, reggae, rock tributes, and classical performances. These events provide a cost-free alternative to the high-priced entertainment often associated with the region's tourism season.

The schedule includes specific pricing and access details for select events. Most shows require no ticket, but the Rae Sada and Ape Drums party at ZeyZey mandates an RSVP and a 21-and-over policy. At the Miami Beach Bandshell, skaters can rent equipment for $10, though Miami Beach residents skate for free. The Hollywood Real Jazz Festival and the New World Symphony outdoor concert are open to the public at no charge.

Several notable acts are slated to perform. Guitarist Aaron Lebos leads the local quartet Abstract Citizen, which will play at the Miami Beach Bandshell. The New World Symphony will host violinist James Ehnes for a performance of Sergei Prokofiev's violin concertos. In Pompano Beach, the band Hearing Damage will perform a tribute to the British rock group Radiohead. The Mighty Flea Circus will provide a rockabilly dance night at the same venue.

The events are distributed across multiple venues and neighborhoods. ZeyZey in Miami will host a house and Caribbean music night. Las Rosas will feature the Tennessee trio Optic Sink. Blackbird Ordinary in downtown Miami will host the JamRock Cruise after-party, featuring dancehall and reggae artists. The Sunrise Amphitheater will host Tunes 'N Trucks, a family-friendly rock event with food trucks and a performance by The Rock Show.

Dates for these performances are spread throughout the month. The first event, featuring Rae Sada and Ape Drums, occurs on Thursday, Nov. 5. Optic Sink performs on Nov. 11. The Radiohead tribute takes place on Nov. 14. The roller disco and Abstract Citizen performances are scheduled for Nov. 17 and Nov. 19, respectively. The Hollywood Real Jazz Festival runs on Nov. 20 and Nov. 21. The Prokofiev concert and the Mighty Flea Circus dance night both conclude the month on Nov. 21.
