Quince, a retailer known for its direct to consumer pricing, is selling lab grown diamond engagement rings for as little as $900 and up to $5,000. The price point undercuts traditional luxury jewelry houses by a wide margin and reflects a broader shift in how consumers approach high cost personal purchases. Kylie Bee, the Merchandise Lead of Fine Jewelry at Quince, stated that the company uses a factory direct model to cut out supply chain middlemen. This approach allows the retailer to keep prices low while maintaining what it describes as chic lab grown diamond options.
The company offers financing and a generous return policy to reduce the risk of online purchases. Bee noted that all engagement rings can be returned or exchanged within 60 days. The retailer also provides a limited lifetime warranty to give buyers peace of mind. These terms are competitive with other online jewelry sellers but align with the growing expectation for flexible consumer protection in the digital marketplace.
Other retailers are responding to the demand for affordable and sustainable options. Plum Diamonds, a women owned and operated business, exclusively works with lab grown diamonds. The company believes these stones offer better value and are more eco friendly. Plum Diamonds crafts rings from scratch in 15 to 17 business days and offers free resizing and polishing for life. The brand provides financing and a selection of side views and bands to match customer preferences.
Vrai takes a different approach to sustainability by crafting its lab grown diamonds from greenhouse gas. The company crystallizes the gas in its American foundry using zero emission river energy. According to Vrai, once the greenhouse gas is crystallized, it can no longer reflect heat and warm the planet. This process means each carat purchased helps save the climate. All rings are made to order with a lifetime warranty and value guarantee.
Angara focuses on customizable gemstone engagement rings, including sapphire, emerald, and ruby options. The retailer serves a wide range of budgets, from a few hundred dollars to more than $100,000. Customers can work with 24/7 customer assistance to tailor their rings. Angara offers both natural and lab grown gemstone styles, allowing buyers to choose based on preference and price.
Blue Nile secures a top spot for value with its wide selection of engagement rings. The retailer offers the largest online inventory of various sizes, styles, and cuts. All diamonds are ethically sourced and arrive in a deluxe presentation box with an appraisal certificate and diamond grading report. Blue Nile provides financing, free engraving, and a lifetime warranty. Its best seller, the Riviera Pave Diamond Engagement Ring in 14k White Gold, is also available in rose gold, yellow gold, and platinum.
Jean Dousset, the great great grandson of Louis Cartier, launched the new Claire Collection in its West Hollywood boutique. The collection features a center stone that appears to float on air due to the retailer's thinnest prongs yet. This design is particularly evident with colorless diamonds set in platinum or 18k white gold. The brand promises an ultra luxe experience both online and in store.
Mejuri handcrafts pieces from solid gold, sterling silver, and diamonds, avoiding brass or steel. Although customization is limited to metal colors and engraving, the rings have been seen on Hollywood stars and top influencers. The brand offers free engraving, though it is not eligible for returns. Mejuri's pieces are described as chic and unique, making them a popular choice for buyers seeking recognizable brands at accessible prices.
Catbird, based in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, debuted its line of engagement rings called The Swans. The collection is described as elegantly modern with classic lines and proportions. Each ring is set and hand finished by in house jewelers using 100 percent recycled solid 14k gold or platinum. The brand offers financing, two day delivery, and 10 day returns or exchanges. Customers can also book complimentary virtual or in person appointments to help select a ring.
