Seminole County homelessness has risen sharply in recent years, creating an urgent need for shelter and support services for women. The Angels of Mercy ministry plans to address this gap through its fourth annual Light the Way Gala, scheduled for Saturday, November 7, 2026.
The event will run from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 1711 S Orange Blvd in Sanford. Proceeds from ticket sales will directly fund three specific initiatives. Bridge Housing offers a three-phase program that provides safe temporary living, skills training, and job placement for women rebuilding their lives.
Additional funds will support the Angels Second Chance Boutique, which operates as a thrift shop and small food pantry. The ministry also uses revenue to develop Angels On The Inside, a curriculum designed to prepare incarcerated women for successful reentry into society. Because fundraising occurs through the Zeffy platform, the organization states that 100 percent of ticket purchases go to the mission.
Natalee King, a U.S. Air Force veteran, recovery advocate, and author, will serve as the keynote speaker. A Gold Star widow, King uses her personal history of loss and addiction to share messages of hope. Ciara Estrada, an alumni of the ministry, will also speak about her journey. The evening will include stories from other program graduates.
Admission options include individual tickets for $100 and couples packages for $200. Table sponsorships for groups of eight to ten guests start at $1,000. Every ticket covers on-site parking, dinner, and dessert. The organization notes that limited seats remain as the event date approaches.
For those unable to attend, the ministry offers an option to add a donation through the same online page. The event aims to connect community members with the specific resources available to women in the Sanford area.
